Establishment of religion
An interesting and thought provoking site.

I wonder about the idea that Government officially takes a view point of no
religion in government. If I interpret you correctly You say that the
people at large do not support this and it is an attitude of the elite.

I wonder how then, in our Democracy, that the population at large does not
elect more people who run for election on a Religious ticket, somewhat like
the US experiment with "Prohibition" where that particular Religous Election
did not take hold of the population at large.

Cheers!

Establishment of religion
But in America and I believe other Western countries fundamental issues like religion and public morality are out of the scope of democracy. It wasn't the people who voted to take prayer out of the public schools, or create an all-but-absolute right to an abortion, or keep the people of Colorado from doing away with "gay rights" legislation. It was the Supreme Court, backed by the establishment media and other components of our governing elites.
