I've heard the title named from time to time, but I haven't read it myself; is it worth picking up? And from what sort of perspective is it written - left/liberal or conservative, and if the latter, which kind?

Message: I've read bits and pieces of the book as well as the article. It's a fascinating interpretation of post-communist IR; worth picking up from the library or finding the article on line (Foreign Affairs, I think it was published in). I'd say that huntington falls into a right-conservative camp, although I've forgotten too much to classify him into 'paleo' or 'neo' or whatever. the work is influential; a good counter to fukuyama's 'end of history.'

Message: thanks, Joe; what's the IR in your phrase "post-communist IR" - is that "international relations" or something such?
