I think I'm missing something.

I like small-issue coalitions. I also like maintenance of grand principle. I don't see a necessary conflict between the two. I think maintaining principle keeps ideas in play that make productive coalition-building easier.

Also, my multi-point big-ticket program is anti-centralization and pro-subsidiarity, and therefore pro-family through and through. It's pro-diversity as well, in that it accommodates cultural differences through anti-globalism, federalism and localism.
