Basic income
In several of the richer countries there is a debate going on about the possibility of guaranteeing everyone at least some income. It could in the richer countries be afforded by putting together the existing social benefits and some minor tax reform. As I see it this proposal is worth considering, and I also believe that it is possible to find support for the idea in the Human Rights-tradition.
